MIT.nano

A home to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s nanoscale research center, MIT.nano is a cutting-edge facility located in the heart of the university’s campus near the famous Infinite Corridor and Great Dome. Nearly 2,000 researchers, faculty, and students occupy the state-of-the-art “clean room” laboratory spaces operating some of the most sensitive and precise instrumentation and observation equipment ever developed. The finely tuned and delicate nature of the nanotechnology research, and the needs of the occupants, demanded lab environments that placed a strong emphasis on stable climate control, quiet acoustics, meticulous cleanliness, and open spacious views that allow a wealth of natural light. In response, Erie was selected to supply its innovative ENVIRO|FACADESĀ® unitized curtain wall to enclose the sophisticated facility, utilizing custom components and insulating materials to isolate floors and adjacent spaces to meet the strict program requirements.
